I had never been a big fan of Chris Candido. But over the past year or so, his work had impressed me so much and I had turned the corner. It really saddened me to see him go down to a severe ankle injury but it now saddens me more to see him leave us all too soon.

Chris is now in a better place.

This is fucking bullshit. I never followed Candido's career, as I didn't start watching wrestling until after his WWF/ECW days, but from the tape I saw he was an incredible wrestler. I saw him at a convention last year (I didn't get too meet him, something I'm deeply regretting now), and he was awesome when it came to talking with the fans. The wrestling world just lost one of their best.

This IS fucking bullshit. I was in complete shock when my friend send me the link to one of the reports like half an hour ago, and I was just hoping it was somehow not true because it wasn't on the "big" sites, but sadly it doesn't seem like that's the case. This is absolutely terrible shit.

As someone who goes to at LEAST two IWA shows a month ive been a huge Candido fan and im not afraid to say that im 24 and im crying right now. How can this happen ? how can someone so good to this sport die so young its not fucking right.
I just saw him 2 weeks ago and he was doing great :*(

My condolences to all those that knew him personally. I'll miss him for all the times he entertained me when he was on TV. From his days in Smokey Mountain, to his days as a Body Donna, to his stint in ECW, all the way to the end where he was in NWA:TNA.
I have no way to pass along to his family that I appreciate what he gave to the wrestling bussiness so I'm doing it here. I don't know if I'm doing it so his family may have something to see and know that Chris was appreciated or just as a way for a fan to get closure from it. Regardless it feels right though.

I do have a request though for the man this journal belongs to. Watch out for Tammy. Something as traumatic as this could send her down a path that destroys all she worked to fix. As a fan of hers I would hate to see that happen and I know Mr. Candido would as well.

yeah, I agree. As sad as it was that Chris Candido died (RIP Chris), I think it's imperative that people make sure Tammy can get through this. I know of her past problems myself, and it would be another tragedy if she has a relapse.

And also, my condolences go out to all those who knew him.

my sincerest condolances... it's so hard to believe, my friends and i were reading the random reports and going "this can't be true, it's gotta be a sick joke"....

...and then, one of us found this.

i still can't believe it. it isn't right, it ISN'T fair... a life extinguished far too soon.

RIP Chris... you'll be with us in memory, whether we had the honour to meet you or not, you reached out to many.

Even though I NEVER watched a single match of yours, I've read match reports about him and he was a great wrestler from what I've read.

This is one of the saddest things i've ever read, especially seeing how respected he was, both as a worker--and a person. I feel your pain, CM Punk, but I hope you're not serious about quitting the buisness.

I haven't seen much of your work at all, to be honest, but after skimming through some of your entries, I have become very interested in seeing more of your matches. You seem like a really great guy.

I think it's totally worth it, but then again... I guess I wouldn't know yet.
