That rocked beyond words! I wish I could offer you some advice on how to get to sleep, but I have the same problem, so I usually just run myself until I drop. I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya to get some sleep tonight. And if not, then I'll just look tomorrow for your next bit of wisdom.

We have a guy in Houston who had a sign that said something to that effect. Which I found to be mildly amusing, but I still didn't give him money.

If you want to hear something truly funny, in that dark sort of way, there is a homeless girl, maybe twelve at best, who "lives" near us and always has signs which make her seem so sad. A few weeks back, I saw her smoking!!

Like, not only do I not agree with someone that young smoking (or anyone for that matter), but she wants me to give her money and feel sorry for her, but she's probably just going to buy cigarettes now. That just blew my mind.

So yes. Beer = funny. Young girl smoking = much more disturbing. When you see something like that, you'll get to where I am now... And I have no idea where that is.

Were you, by chance, outside of Yankee Stadium?

I've seen that guy around NYC. He has had much more creative signs. One said "I Need Money For Drugs, Booze And Hookers". And he always has that disclaimer at the bottom, with something to the effect of "At least you know I'm not bullshitting you" or "I'm just keeping it real".

We had a show in Nashville on our last tour and this guy at the gas station straight up asked me for money to buy beer, and before I could say anything, he started telling me what kind of beer he wanted and alla this stuff...

I was just so stunned...weird...
